Rare Grana Military Pilots watch Valjoux 71 early 40's
Super rare Grana - Kurth Freres Military Pilot watch from the early 40's. The watch brand Grana is not very well known but avid collectors know it well... It was part the predecessor of Certina and founded in 1888 by the Kurth brothers. Grana is short for Granatus which means Grechen, the Swiss city where the brand was founded. This example is a rare example used by Hungarian Pilots in the 2nd WO (also where I bought it). These also came with black dials but this white/silver original dial is considered rarer. It is similar to the Jardur Bezelmeter as they shared both the case and high grade Valjoux 71 movement and measure 38mm excl. crown. It's in fantastic all original untouched condition and functioning perfectly. Attached is a period style strap. Truly rare and stunning example!
